Dorota Walentynowicz – visual artist, feminist researcher. Her artistic and theoretical interests concern the intersection of photography, installation and performance. A significant part of her current activity is related to collective practices, the aim of which is to develop horizontal methods of functioning within existing models of artistic production. She is a member of the Feminist Seminar collective and the Plenum of Care collective.
Dorota Walentynowicz is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (photography) and the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague (art-science). In 2022, she completed her PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where she now lectures in post-photography.
She has won numerous scholarships, including the Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and the Dutch Huygens Scholarship, and has participated in international residency programmes, including those at the Museumsquartier in Vienna, Meetfactory in Prague,  the Kunsthalle in Andratx and the Apollonia European Art Exchanges in Strasbourg. Her works have been exhibited among others at the Folkwang Museum in Essen; the State Art Gallery in Sopot); the WRO Art Biennale in Wrocław; the Transmediale Festival in Berlin; the V2 Media Institute in Rotterdam; the Künstlerhaus in Vienna; the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw; the Łaźnia Centre for Contemporary Art in Gdańsk; , the Museum of Photography in Amsterdam, the Stroom Foundation in The Hague, the Four Domes Pavilion of the National Museum in Wrocław, the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery in Krakow, the Gdańsk City Gallery, the New Jörg art space in Vienna,  the Kunstverein in Salzburg.
